Name + Process Emotions Guide
Notice + Name Emotions: Name each emotion as specifically as you can using a feelings wheel and your journal. Invite the Lord into this process. Ask the Holy Spirit to walk with you through this process and give you courage to face your feelings. Notice where in your body you feel your emotions. Have you felt this way before? Write them down!
Accept God’s Love: The Lord is with you in this process. You don’t need to feel shame or guilt about your feelings, Remember, feelings are not good or bad - they just ARE. The Lord sees what you are going through. He will never leave you. Be kind to yourself - no judgment.
Align with Truth: As the Lord reveals your feelings, pray over each one. Ask God to show any generational patterns. Invite the Lord into any relationships that need healing. Are you believing a lie? What do you need to see differently, through God’s eyes?
Respond in Prayer: What response is God calling you to? Letting go of fear? Repenting of sin? Trusting God in this season? Embracing His truth? Pray over every emotion and receive God’s grace. Ask for His help in letting go of negative emotions and receiving His peace and joy.
Action Steps: Now that you have processed your emotions through reflection, truth, and prayer, consider what action—if any—is needed. Does this feeling reveal an area where you need to set a boundary, have a conversation, or change a behavior? Is God calling you to forgive, extend grace, or surrender something to Him? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your next steps and empower you to walk in wisdom and obedience. Remember, healing and transformation are a process, and each small step of faith brings renewal. Trust that God is working in you, making all things new (Revelation 21:5). What is one practical step you can take today to align your heart with His truth and move forward in His grace?
